We are Millennials. Born between the early 1980s and early 2000s, we started life during the most progressive time. We have perfected our craft, and found a way to shine through our flaws. This is who we are, and this is our anthem.
We are the generation of technology.
We stand on the opposite end of the digital divide. We are the generation who digitizes our lives. We live through our networks and we find a way to connect. We like, we share, we comment.
We are the generation of ambition.
We are the generation who is “told”. We are told to pursue an education, a career, a life. But the one thing we are not told is the process it will entail: the struggle, the confusion and the decision-making. Regardless, we always find a way to success because we are taught to be ambitious.
We are the generation of content creation.
We are not afraid to create. A video, a photo, a post or a movement. We create our own content. We tell our own stories. We are original. We are fearless. We are cool. But most of all, we are fun.
We are the generation of cool.
Despite our struggle, and despite what we are told, we always give the generations above us and below us something to talk about. We are the generation who is always the topic of conversation. We have become an excuse (“It’s because I’m a millennial.”) We have become a reason (“It’s because you’re a millennial.”)
We are the generation of conversation.
We are not afraid to start a conversation. We speak about the subjects we believe in and we persuade others to be on board with us. We know how to make a positive impact and we know how to do it with pride.
We know how to make things happen, and we do it well.
The truth is, you can’t change us, and even if you tried, we’ll still find a way to make it cool.
